---------------------------------- 0.40mg

FORMS/SYNONYMS: Reduced L-Glutathione

CHEMICAL NAME: Gamma-L-Glutamyl-L-cysteninylglycine

DESCRIPTION: L-Glutathione is a
compound classified as a tripeptide made of three amino acids: cysteine, glutamic acid, and glycine. Glutathione is also found in every part of the body, especially the lungs, intestinal tract, and liver.

The body produces and stores the largest amounts of GSH in the liver, where it is uses to detoxify harmful compound so that they can be removed from the body through the bile.

The liver also supplies GSH directly to red and white blood cells in the bloodstream; it helps keep red blood and white blood cells healthy to maximize the disease-fighting power of the immune system. Glutathione also appears to have an

anti-aging affect on the body. GSH levels decline with age, and a lack of glutathione has been shown to leave the body more vulnerable to damage by free radicals, thus speeding up oxidation (wearing down) of the body.

There is no Recommended Dietary
Allowance (RDA) for GSH, but supplements have no known harmful side effect. Glutathione supplements can be expensive, but there is some question about the body’s ability to absorb GSH efficiently in supplemental form. If you want to take GSH supplements, just make sure to take them with meals to maximize absorption. The usual dose for extra glutamine is anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 milligrams.

INDICATIONS: Different alcoholic liver diseases (alcoholic fatty liver, alcoholic liver fibrosis, alcoholic liver cirrhosis, and acute alcoholic hepatitis). It is an emergency antidote in treatment of poisoning by radiotherapy drugs and chemicals (chemotherapeutic drug, anti-tuberculosis drugs, neurolytics, antidepressants, analgesics and antipyretics).

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Intramuscular injection or intravenous drip infusion.

Mild Case: 0.3gm into intramuscular injection or intravenous infusion, 1-2 times daily.

Severe Cases: 0.6gm intramuscular injection or intravenous infusion, 1-2 times daily.

The daily dose may change according to the patient’s age and disease condition. The intravenous infusion should be completely administered within 1-2 hours.

Intramuscular Use: Dissolve 0.3gm lyophilized powder with 3ml water for injection (reconstituted solution contains 100mg/ml of Glutathione.

CONTRAINDICATION: Not advisable for use during some forms of chemotherapy and radiation treatment where antioxidants are contraindicated due to their ability to inhibit free radical formation which is an integral part of the therapeutic mechanism.

ADVERSE REACTIONS: There has been no report of adverse reactions.

PRECAUTIONS: Products for parenteral use should be visually inspected before administration. The container or the solution should be closely examined in order to possibly detect the presence of particles or of an abnormal color. Do not use in case of presence of turbidity or precipitates.

USE IN PREGNANCY & LACTATION: The available data show that Glutathione, being a substance physiologically present in cells, does not cause unwanted effect in women during pregnancy or
breastfeeding. Nevertheless, Glutathione should only be administered to pregnant or lactating mothers under proper medical supervision.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Vitamin K3, Vitamin B12, Calcium Pantohenate, orotic acid, antihistamines, sulfanilamides and tetracyclines can affect the bioavailability of glutathione. In the absence of compatibility studies, Glutathione should not be mixed with other products.

STORAGE: Store in a cool dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Protect from direct sunlight. Reconstituted solution must be stored below 25°C, and used within

Grapeseed -- or the chemicals within them, especially oligomeric proanthocyanidin complexes (OPCs) -- have been touted as powerful antioxidants. Some people believe they could help treat a number of conditions, from heart disease to cancer to aging skin, although scientific evidence is mostly lacking for those conditions. However, there is good evidence that grape seed extract can help treat chronic venous insufficiency and edema.

A study of healthy volunteers found that taking grape seed extract did substantially increase levels of antioxidants in their blood. Antioxidants are substances that destroy free radicals -- harmful compounds in the body that damage DNA (genetic material) and even cause cell death. Free radicals are believed to contribute to aging as well as the development of a number of health problems, including heart disease and cancer.
